Type locality: Fazenda Caraibas (13° 09’ 49’’ S, 41° 24’ 19’’ W), district of Cascavel, municipality of Mucuge, Serra do Espinhaco (Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, NE Brazil.

Diagnosis 
CommentAbundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024.

Distribution: See map in Breitman et al. 2019: 357 (Fig. 1). 
EtymologyNamed after the Greek “erythros” = red and “keneon” = flank, referring to the strikingly red flanks of the males (the females are quite different without a red flank).
