CommentDistribution: not in Brazil fide Nogueira et al. 2019 (Atlas). 
EtymologyNamed after Greek mimos (μίμος), an imitator, mimic: an actor, mime. [“...Its general appearance is exactly that of E. venustissimus with single rings, or Ophibolus micropholis with confluent rings...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)

Erythrolamprus mimus micrurus was named after Latin Micrurus, snake genus due to Wagler, 1824. [“...E. mimus micrurus is practically identical in color with the recently described Micrurus clarki which occurs with it in the lower Chagres, in the lower Tuira, and at Cana. Its name was suggested by this similarity…”].
