Type locality: Bolivia, Cochabamba, Incachaca, elevation 2500 m.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Liophis andinus is distinguished from all species of Liophis except L. reginae by having 15-15-15 dorsal scale rows, generally without reduction (one reduced to 14 posteriorly), rather than 19-17-17, 19-17-15, 17-17-17, or 17-17-15 dorsal scale rows: and from all species of Liophis by having three (very rarely two) supralabials entering the orbit rather than two [from DIXON 1983]. 
CommentKnown only from type locality fide VANZOLINI in PETERS et al. 1986. 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality in the Andes.
