CommentSynonymy partly after SMITH 1935. Mabuya allapallensis has been treated as a synonym of Mabuya macularis (Blyth, 1853) by Smith (1935). Sharma (1976) and Das (1991) considered it valid but Mirza et al. (2010) synonymized it again with E. macularia while GANESH & ARUMUGAM 2016 consider it as valid.

Habitat: E. allapallensis is a hill species, while E. macularia is rarely found in hill forests, being a widespread human-commensally plains species.
EtymologyMabuya allapallensis was named after its type locality.
