Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Mabuya quadratilobus is distinguished from all other Asian members of the genus by the following combination of characters: lower eyelid with transparent disk; three large, squared lobules at anterior margin of ear; seven supralabials with fifth approximately 2.5 x length of first; dorsal scales tricarinate. (Bauer & Günther 1992). |
Comment | Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. |
Etymology | The name derives from the Latin lobus (lobe) and quadratus (square) and is in reference to the striking ear lobules characteristic of this species. |
