Types	Holotype: NMBA 22681; paratypes: NMBA, ZMB
Diagnosis	Diagnosis: Mabuya quadratilobus is distinguished from all other Asian members of the genus by the following combination of characters: lower eyelid with transparent disk; three large, squared lobules at anterior margin of ear; seven supralabials with fifth approximately 2.5 x length of first; dorsal scales tricarinate. (Bauer & Günther 1992).
Comment	Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024.
Etymology	The name derives from the Latin lobus (lobe) and quadratus (square) and is in reference to the striking ear lobules characteristic of this species.
