Diagnosis | Diagnosis: A typical member of the Australian species group, possessi.ng a constant sternal and mesosternal rib structure of 3 + 1 and a.mean a.dult size of approximately 41 mm (see fig. 7). Can be distinguished by ItS relatively shorter, deeper head and reduced number of enlarged labials - 6 or 7 upper and only 5 or 6 lower labials. It has a distinctive colour pattern and a unique habitat preference as described below [from MITCHELL 1965]. |
