DistributionSE Mexico (Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tabasco [HR]), 730-1800 m elevation

Type locality: Near Colonia Francisco I. Madero, ca. 1800 m elevation, municipality of Jitotol, Chiapas, Mexico.

TypesHolotype: INHS (= UIMNH) 51352, adult female collected 23 December 1961 by T. MacDougall. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis (n=1): Distinguished from other members of the genus by the combination of (1) dorsal scales in 15 rows, smooth except above the vent; (2) no anterior temporal; (3) 6 supralabials; (4) dorsum blackish with numerous light crossbars; and (5) venter blackish with a few light blotches. (Downs 1967)
