CommentMimicry: Geophis semidoliatus mimicks Micrurus diastema (TORRE-LORANCA et al. 2006). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin semi-, half, partly + Greek dolion (δόλιον), barrel; Latin dolion, large earthenware vessel. [“...en dessus et latéralement, elle sert de fond à de grandes taches quadrilatères d’un beau noir, ou d’un brun foncé, imprimées en travers du tronc et de la queue de façon à simuler des demi-anneaux...”].
