Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: See map in García‐Vázquez et al. 2018: Fig. 3.

Synonymy: Good 1988 listed Gerrhonotus ophiurus as synonym of G. liocephalus. 
EtymologyThe specific name is derived from the Greek words ophis, meaning "snake" and oura, meaning "tail" in reference to the long snake-like tail.
