Reproduction	oviparous
Types	Holotype: ULABG 5585, adult male
Diagnosis	Diagnosis: ESQUEDA 2004
Comment	Behavior: mainly diurnal
Etymology	“El nombre específico deriva de las palabras en Latín purpura (púrpura) y gula (garganta), de acuerdo con Brown (1978), en alusión a la coloración en vida de la garganta de los machos.” [ESQUEDA 2004]
