Type locality: Mindanao.

TypesHolotype: BMNH 1884.12.31.1 Correctly registered as 1884.12.31.1, however Gecko smithii has the same registration number despite there being no entry for this specimen in the original register.

EtymologyNamed after Latin interruptus = interrupted, probably from the dorsal crest not continuous with the nuchal (but not explicitly explained by Boulenger)
