CommentTetradactylus decresiensis CUVIER has long been regarded as a homonym of Tridactylus decresiensis CUVIER. Lygosoma (Hemiergis) quadridigitatum WERNER 1910 is a nomen novum pro Seps peronii FITZINGER 1826. Synonymy mostly after COGGER 1983 who also believed that Fitzinger's Seps Peronii is based on Tetradactylus degesiensis = Hemiergis degresiensis and thus is a nomen nudum. Heteropus Peronii — DUMÉRIL & BIBRON 1839 has been removed from the synonymy of Hemiergis peronii and is now Carlia peronii.

Limb morphology: 4 digits, 4 toes (Singhal et al. 2018, Brandley et al 2008; some populations are 3, 3 in WA)
EtymologyNamed after François Peron (1775-1810), a French voyager and naturalist.
