Type locality: "Vizagapatam." [=Vishakhapatnam, extreme northeastern Andhra Pradesh, India].  
Reproductionovovivparous 
TypesHolotype: lost, was BMNH 1861.12.30.38, a 650-660 mm male (R.H. Beddome).

CommentVenomous!

Habitat: marine.

Distribution: not known from Thailand fide Merel J. Cox (pers. comm., 27 Oct 2018). Reports from the Arabian peninsula (e.g. Corkill & Cochrane 1966) are doubtful; GBIF (June 2023) has no records from there.
