Type species: Herpetodryas goudoti SCHLEGEL 1837: 187 is the type species of the genus Ithycyphus GÜNTHER 1873.

Behavior: diurnal

Habitat: fully arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
EtymologyNamed after Jules Prosper Goudot, French traveler, collector (for the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris), and entomologist who worked and lived in Madagascar in the first half of the 19th century.
