Type locality: Corrected to "Madagascar" by Duméril, Bibron and Duméril, 1854b: 1122, see comment.

CommentSynonymy partly after BOULENGER 1896. Records from Comoro are doubtful (WALLACH & GLAW 2009).

Behavior: this species is diurnal, despite the name “night snake” that is sometimes used.

Habitat: fully arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018).

Type locality: originally "d'île de France." [=Mauritius Is.] (in error).
