Type locality: Duffla [= Dafla], Assam/Bhutan border (fide WERMUTH 1967).

TypesHolotype: ZSI 4104 (maybe lectotype as also given as syntype), male; Paratype: BMNH 1946.8.13.95; ZSI 15755 (from ‘Nainital, 6,600 ft.’) is also listed as a type. 
Diagnosis 
CommentThis is a highly variable species. See Anole Annals and Bhosale et al. 2013 for details. 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. John Anderson (1833-1900), Professor of Natural History at Free Church College, Edinburgh, and Curator of the Indian Museum, Calcutta (1865).
