DiagnosisDiagnosis. Distinguished from striata and borckiana by small dorsal scales at midbody that gradually increase in size from the ventral scutes to the midbody line, rather than enlarged dorsal scales and lateral granules demonstrating a distinct size demarcation along line of contact; from calcarata, pelviceps and altamazonica by three dorsolateral light stripes per side, rather than zero to two, and by scales of the rump comparable in size rather than being smaller than the supracaudals; distinguished from vanzoi by 17-27 femoral pores, rather than 8-11; distinguished from paulensis by a solid middorsal band originating at the parietal region, widening posteriorly, reaching its greatest width midway between axilla and groin, then gradually narrowing to the base of the tail, rather than a narrow middorsal stripe that extends posteriorly from the parietal region to the tail, branching near the forelimbs (of the adults) and forming two stripes that gradually separate and then coalesce at the base of the tail.
