EtymologyNamed after Gr.: oxys, shap pointed; rhis (> rhinos), nose; -us/a/um, adjectival ending: sharp-nosed denoting the pointed nasal appendage in male specimens (Charles Klaver, pers. comm., 11 Jan 2023).
