Comment 
EtymologyNamed after L.: excubitor, sentinel or guard (excubare, to keep watch, to be vigilant), perhaps referring to the sparse occurrence of this species in the region north of mount Kenya (Charles Klaver, pers. comm., 11 Jan 2023).
