Type locality: Derema, Usambara Mts., Tanzania.  
TypesLectotype: ZMB 1138, designated by Klaver & Böhme (1988). See also Bauer et al. (2006). 
EtymologyNamed after L.: tenuis, slender; referring to the longer tail and longer legs as compared with the similar looking Calumma nasutum (Charles Klaver, pers. comm., 11 Jan 2023).
