DiagnosisDiagnosis: Ventral plates trapezoidal, with notches be- tween plates, in 6 longitudinal rows; enlarged marginals lacking or few in number; collar strongly serrated; usually 2 superposed postnasals; one or two preoculars (Fig. 114); usually 20-26 temporal scales; fifth submaxillary small; 12-16 femoral pores, row ofpores not reaching knee (Anderson 1999: 237).

Color pattern: Young dark olive-brown, with 5 light lines on dorsum, anterior half of lateral streak broken up into spots, often additional row of light spots in temporal region; adults without pattern oflight lines or spots; dorsum predominantly green to olive-brown, uniform or speckled, mottled, or flecked with black. All adults with blue on sides of neck. Venter greenish-white to greenish-yellow. Three-year-old and older males with blue flecks or bands on flanks (Anderson 1999: 237).
