Type locality: Kislovodsk, South Russia; “Krasnowodsk, northern Caucasus, Russian” fide ANDERSON 1999 [restricted by Mertens and Müller, 1928:41 – see also Darevsky, 1984:89] (Lacerta viridis var. vaillanti ) - Persia (L. viridis var. woosnami) south coast of Caspian Sea and Bash Nurashin, Iran

Syntypes: BMNH 1908.8.7.6-13/1946.8.5.27-33 (L. viridis var. woosnami) 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: Transverse series of ventral plates with notches between plates, in 6 (rarely 8) longitudinal series; collar strongly serrated; usually 2 superposed postnasals, 25--29 subdigital lamellae under fourth toe; 37-49 dorsals at midbody; tympanic shield present; 17-21 femoral pores, row ofpores complete up to knee; rarely over 20 temporal scales; fifth submaxillary well developed (Anderson 1999: 247).
