DiagnosisDiagnosis (genus): Sadlier et al. 1997. 
CommentThis species is a member of the Eugongylus group, but is not readily assignable to any known genus. The most notable of its several derived characteristics is the extraordinarily large number of small body scales.

Type Species: Lacertoides pardalis SADLIER, SHEA & BAUER 1997 is the type species of the genus Lacertoides SADLIER, SHEA & BAUER 1997.

EtymologyNamed after Latin pardalis, a leopard, alluding to the ocellated color pattern. It is a noun in apposition.
