Etymology | From the Latin amis (friend) plus the diminutive suffix -icula, a case of aplying an interesting name to an otherwise small brown skink with the aim of increasing interest in the species. This was a theme of the author, Glen Ingram. (G. Shea, pers. comm., 9 Feb 2024) |
