Distribution | Iran, Pakistan melanura: Pakistan (Salt Range in N Punjab, Waziristan in NW Frontier province, W Sind and Baluchistan provinces), SE Iran, SE Afghanistan. Type locality: Kashmir (Salt Range, Punjab, fide SMITH 1935) nasiri: S Pakistan (Toba Kakar Range, Balochistan, Pakistan, elevation 2300-2400 m elevation). Type locality: “Tanishpa, Dist. Killa Saifullah, Toba Kakar Range, Balochistan, Pakistan; 31° 12’ N, 68° 28’ E, elevation 2320 m.” Only known from the type locality [BAIG et al. 2012]. lirata: Pakistan, Iran; Type locality: “Gedrosia, Baluchistan” (= Saman, Dasht Province, Baluchistan, fide SMITH 1935). |

Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Size large; head and body dorsolaterally depressed; nostril on canthus rostralis; spinose scales on the sides of head greatly reduced; vertebral enlarged scales smooth or keeled; no patch of enlarged mucro- nate scales on flanks; tail long; tail segment inconsist- ent, starts with 2 – 3 whorls and gradually changes into 5, sometimes 6 in terminal part; callous glands present in males both at precloacal and abdominal positions [BAIG et al. 2012].
