Type locality: restricted to Anda Goya, near the joint of Rio Condoto and Rio San Juan, S Colombia.

Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: The status of Gonatodes oxycephalus is unclear. Has not been verified from Ecuador since its description and considered as species inquirendae by Ayala and Castro (1983) and subsequent authors. Not in Ecuador fide Torres-Carvajal, pers. comm., 8 Sep 2016. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin intermedius, that is between, intermediate. [“...Scaling as in Lepidoblepharis peraccae Blgr., form more as in Lepidoblepharis festae Peracca...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
