Comment | Type species: Lepidodactylus festae PERACCA 1897: 300 is the type species of the genus Lepidoblepharis PERACCA 1897.
Key: BATISTA et al. 2015 present a key to the species of Lepidoblepharis in Panama.
Distribution: not listed for Amazonas by RIBEIRO-JUNIOR 2015. Brazilian populations of this taxon actually belongs to L. heyerorum (Avila-Pires 1995, Costa & Bernils 2015). For maps of species distributions see Vanzolini 1968: 91 (Map 2). |
Etymology | Named after Dr. Enrico Festa (1868-1939), an Italian zoologist. He visited Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria (1893) and collected in Panama and Ecuador (1895-1898). He worked for Museo e Instituto di Zoologia Sistematica dell'Universita di Torino (1899-1923) as Deputy Assistant Professor (1899), retiring as Honorary Vice Director (Beolens et al. 2011: 89). |
