Comment | Group: Member of Lepidodactylus group III. Synonymy: Due to similarity with L. lugubris, the validity of this species has been questioned. However, L. woodfordi appears to be bisexual and therefore distinct from at least the widespread parthenogenetic forms of L. lugubris. |
Etymology | Named after Charles Morris Woodford (1852-1927), an adventurer, naturalist, and philatelist and the Resident Commissioner, Solomon Islands Protectorate (1896-1914). |
