Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Differs from lugubris on the following points: Snout shorter. Male with 17 praeanal pores, forming a double-arched series. Tail cylindrical. Pinkish-brown above, head with small black spots. Limbs and sides of the back speckled with blackish. Tail with dark transverse bars; throat and breast speckled with brown (de Rooij 1915: 49).
