Similar species: Oxybelis brevirostris.

Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin depressa, flattened and Latin rostris, beack, snout. [“...Muzzle elongate, depressed, truncate...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
