Type locality: Dong Tam Ve, Cantral Annam (Central Truong Son Range, Vietnam)

TypesHolotype: MNHN-RA 1948.0061 (by monotypy), formerly Bourret collection S131, Dong-Tam-Ve, Vietnam, collected Mr. Poilane. Type unknown (fide Sang et al. 2009)

CommentType species: Siaphos poilani BOURRET 1937 is the type species of the genus Leptoseps GREER 1997.

Scincella can be distinguished from Leptoseps by the number of digits on the hindlimbs: five versus four, respectively (Greer 1997).

Abundance: probably rare; only known from 2 specimens (Darevsky & Orlov 2005).
