DistributionS Mozambique, Swaziland (Lebombo mountains)

Type locality: Estatuane, Mozambique.  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesHolotype: NMZB, previously UM 30635. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: A species apparently most closely related to L. distanti, which it resembles in having 12 scale rows on the tail. It differs from distanti in having a narrow rostral and undivided occipitals. An anterior supralabial is present.

Etymologynamed for Jose Tello, who has made valuable collections of reptiles and amphibians in poorly known regions of southern Mocambique.
