Etymology | Named after 'Kari Chigara Changgala', meaning 'no-leg lizard' in the Tagalaka language, referring to the species' lack of forelimbs. The name is treated as an indeclinable word in apposition and was recommended by the Tagalaka Elders, with assistance from the Tagalaka Aboriginal Corporation. |
