Comment	Type species: Lerista stictopleura Storr, 1985 is the type species of the genus Xynoscincus Wells and Wellington, 1988. WELLS 2012: 136 revived Xynoscincus for the species Xynoscincus stictopleurus (Storr, 1985). Unfortunately WELLS did not provide a phylogenetic analysis of the genera into which he broke up Lerista, hence we leave the current genus Lerista intact for the time being.
Etymology	From Greek stictos (spotted) and pleura (side).
