Comment | Type Species: Lerista chordae Amey et al. 2005 is the type species of the genus Tychismia WELLS 2012: 252. WELLS 2012: 47 erected this genus for the species T. chordae, dorsalis, flammicauda, frosti, concolor, and zietzi. Unfortunately WELLS did not provide a phylogenetic analysis of the genera into which he broke up Lerista, hence we leave the current genus Lerista intact for the time being. Similar species: L. dorsalis Limb morphology: 4 digits, 4 toes |
Etymology | Named after Latin chordeae, strings of a lyre, in reference to the thin black lines on the dorsum. |
