CommentGenetically there is no evidence for zenkeri being in Typhlops (B. Hedges, pers. comm., 2 Dec 2016). 
EtymologyNamed after Georg August Zenker (1855-1922), a German botanist, ornithologist, and gardener who collected in Central Africa from ca. 1895. He had significant landholding around Bipindi.
