DiagnosisDiagnosis. See entry of Liolaemus punmahuida. 
CommentBelongs to the Liolaemus elongatus-kriegi group (fide ESPINOZA et al. 2000 and AVILA et al. 2003).

Southern populations of L. buergersi have been split off into a new species, L. scorialis. 
EtymologyNamed after Professor Dr. Otto Burger (b. 1865), a traveler and collector for the Zoologisches Forschungsmuseum Alexander Koenig, Bonn. He explored in Colombia (1896-1897), for the Academy of Science, Gattingen.
