Type locality: sand dunes near Ruta Nacional 40, 2 km south Cerrito Piñon, 650 m, Departamento Collón Curá, Provincia del Neuquén, Argentina (ca. -40.2565, -70.6330, fide RD Sage, pers. comm. 2 Oct 2020).

Comment 
EtymologyNamed after Perito Francisco P. Moreno in recognition of his early support for the survey of Argentina’s natural resources, including the extensive field studies and expeditions of Julio Koslowsky and many others. His strong support for the collections in the Museo de La Plata, and his pioneering conservation efforts. He donated a large tract of land in Nahuel Huapi that became the core of the first National Park in South America.
