CommentSubspecies: Liolaemus signifer annectens BOULENGER 1901 is now treated as valid species.

Synonymy: Langstroth 2021 considered L. signifer as a nomen dubium. He also considered Liolaemus tropidonotus Boulenger 1902 a junior synonym of L. multiformis. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin signifer, bearer of the mark, stamp or seal. (Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., April 2024)
