Type locality: “Toquepala Mine, sixty kilometers east of Moquegua, Department of Tacna, Peru".  
Reproductionviviparous (phylogenetic imputation, fide Zimin et al. 2022)

Diagnosis 
CommentHas been transferred to Liolaemus by LAURENT 1992.

Distribution: has been erroneously reported from Chile, based on misidentifications (TRONCOSO-PALACIOS & ETHERIDGE 2012). Possibly the reptile species at the highest known elevation. 
Etymologynamed after the type locality.
