Type locality: Laguna Colorada, Bolivia [68 km SSE of the Salar de Ascotán], 22° 17’ S, 67° 47’ W

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Una subespecie de L. jamesi (Boulenger) diferente de la forma típica por el número de escamas dorsales entre el occipucio y el nivel de los bordes anteriores de los muslos: 41 en el holotipo, 39 en el paratipo en lugar de 30-38 en Ljames/. También difiere de L.aymararum a este respecto ya que este número de escamas varía de 42 a 52 en esta forma. Entre los caracteres morfométricos, uno diferencia bien L.aymararum de L jamesi: la distancia de la nariz a la boca es su- perior al 80% del espacio mínimo entre las supraorbitales en Ljamesi (1 sola excepción en 11 ejemplares) mientras que en L.aymararum ningún individuo sobrepasa tal cifra. Los dos ejemplares de Bolivia se asemejan a L. jamesi por esta proporción [from LAURENT 1995]

EtymologyNamed after Luis F. Pacheco A. of the Museo Nacional de Historia Natural de La Paz who sent the specimens to Laurent.
