Type locality: Fierro Carrera, Valle del Río San Francisco, Cerro El Plomo, Cordillera de Santiago, Chile, elevation 2700 m.

ramonensis: Chile (Santiago); Type locality: Cerro de Ramón, Provincia Santiago, Chile, elevation 2600 m.

Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: Esquerré et al. 2019 synonymized L. ramonensis with L. leopardinus.

Subspecies: The previously recognized subspecies ramonensis and valdesianus have been raised to species status.

Goups: LOBO (2001) suggests the following monophyletic species groups within Liolaemus: alticolor, altissimus, gravenhorstii, hellmichi, kriegi, leopardinus, monticola, nigromaculatus, nigroviridis, pictus and tenuis.

Group: According to Troncoso-Palacios & Ramírez-Álvarez (2021) the leopardinus group includes L. frassinettii, leopardinus, normae, ubaghsi, and valdesianus.

Distribution (ramonensis): not listed for Argentina fide AVILA et al. 2010, Lista de las lagartijas y anfisbaenas de Argentina.

Abundance (ramonensis): only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017).
