Type locality: Argentina, Mendoza, Nihuil Dam, elevation 1800 m.  
TypesHolotype: IBAUNC 818-1 (Inst. Biol. Anim. Univ. de Cuyo) 
CommentConservation: Has not been seen since 1982 (fide ETHERIDGE 2000) and may therefore be in great danger of extinction. Belongs to the wiegmanni group of Liolaemus.
