Type locality: Rio Las Yeguas, Sierra de los Tarjados, Parque Nacional Talampaya (29° 44’ S, 67° 45’ W), elevation 1200 m, Felipe Varela Department, La Rioja Province, Argentina.  
Reproductionviviparous (not imputed, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesHolotype: FML 13411 (Fundación Miguel Lillo) 
DiagnosisDiagnosis. See entry of Liolaemus punmahuida. 
CommentBelongs to the Liolaemus elongatus group (fide ESPINOZA et al. 2000).

Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
