Diagnosis 
CommentBehavior: diurnal.

Distribution: the type locality was erroneously given as “Afghanistan”. Possibly in Bhutan (Lenz 2012). 
EtymologyApparently named after Latin “frenum” = bridle, as the dark marking behind the snake's eye resembles a horse's bridle.
