Type locality: “Perak hills, at an altitude of 5,000 feet” [= Larut Hills, Perak State, W West Malaysia fide Boulenger, 1900: 193].

CommentApparently one of those species that were described twice as new by Boulenger in different journals.

Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
Etymologynamed after the curator of the Selangor State museum, L. Butler.
