Diagnosis | Diagnosis: This species is distinct from other congeneric species in having the internasal suture longer than 35% of the prefrontal suture, 186-194 ventral and 194-201 vertebral scales on body, in lacking keels on dorsal scales, and by lacking a distinct dorsal pattern. |

Etymology | The species epithet chrysoprateros derives from the Greek words chrys meaning gold and prater meaning trader, in recognition of the encouragement and support for our work in the Philippines given by our dear friend, H. G.Jarecki, former chairman of Mocatta Metals Corporation. |
