Type locality: Ngirivane Windmill, Kruger National Park, Transvaal, South Africa, approx. 24° 20’ S, 31° 40’ E.  
Reproductionoviparous. 
TypesType: DNMNH (= TM) 26665; other specimens: PEM

CommentHabitat: floodplains

EtymologyNamed after the collector of the types, “Mr. Alex. White, F.Z.S.” (but still spelled “whytii” in the original description of Boulenger).
