Etymology | Apparently named in reference to another species of Lycodryas, L. granuliceps, to which this species is morphologically similar. The epithet is composed of the Greek adjective ψευδής (pseudis = false) and the epithet granuliceps (derived from Latin granuli, granule and Latin -ceps, -headed).
